Ways to Save Energy Saving Tips

Looking to lower your natural gas bill?

While the price of natural gas is determined by the market forces of supply and demand, using natural gas efficiently can help you reduce your usage, environmental impact, and natural gas bill.

AROUND THE KITCHEN

Gas-powered cooktops, cooking ranges, and ovens offer users better temperature control, the ability to cook during power outages, and a more cost-effective option than their electric counterparts.

Tips to know:

  • Hire a certified technician to install natural gas appliances—proper installation improves performance and safety.
  • Regular maintenance can help maintain efficiency and safety, while also extending the lifespan of your appliance.
  • Your oven temperature drops each time you open the door. Try to limit the number of times you open your oven. If not, you’ll use even more energy to raise the heat of your oven and may use more energy to cool your kitchen!
  • When you use a cooking range, choose a burner that closely matches the size of your cookware.
  • Consider cooking outside on your natural gas grill when it’s warm outside to avoid heating up your home.
